We are well into the fourth quarter of the year and hopefully we have accomplished most of the goals we’ve set. Whether you’re a busy professional or stay at home mom, setting goals and planning ahead is an essential part of building success. If you’re interested in learning how to make a vision board online, you’re in the right place.
It’s fun, easy, and doesn’t take a lot of time to get started.
Why vision boards matter
First, I think it’s important to understand the “why” before we get into the “how”. And assuming that since you’re reading this post, you probably already believe in the power of manifestation.
Having a vision for your future is the first step to manifesting your dreams. After you’ve determined your vision, the next step is to take daily actions that get you closer to where you want to be.

Having a vision and taking actions to manifest your visions requires 3 things:
- Strategic Planning
- Extreme Confidence
- Resilience
If you have trouble coming up with a vision, that’s okay. Think short term vision and build from there. Sometimes it’s hard to look too far in the future if you’re unsure where you’re going. Ask yourself these questions:
- What do I want to accomplish next week or in the next 30 days?
- What do I need in my life in order to maintain or take my lifestyle to the next level?
- Is there anything I’m doing currently that I want to change?
These questions will help to guide your vision for the future. Start with short term goals and eventually, creating longer-term goals will be easier.
Other things that will help you realize your vision is to surround yourself with positive people and volunteering for the less fortunate.
Having a vision board provides focus and is a great visual representation of your goals. It’s also a fun way to track your progress.
How to make a vision board online
Step 1: Write down your intentions.
Writing your intentions sets the tone and makes creating your board much easier. My advice would be to start out by freestyling and then organize your list in order of importance.
Don’t hold back in this step, write down as much as you think you can handle and that you have enough motivation to work towards.
Step 2: Choose an easy to use online tool.
However, I enjoy the paid version just because it offers elements and features that take your designs to the next level.
Other platforms that are great for digital designs are Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Indesign. These options are a bit more expensive and come with a bit of a learning curve.
Step3: Start adding your visual inspiration.
Here’s the fun part! With a ton of images and inspiration at your fingertips, you can start picking the images that speak to your vision the most. Keeping your intentions in mind, make sure that you’re choosing things that align with where you want to be.
These are the images that you will look at daily, weekly, monthly to keep you motivated to reach your goals.
If you’re using Canva, you can add images by simply copying them by using your Windows or Mac snip or snag tool and pasting directly into your canvas.
Snipping tool is usually free and comes standard with a Windows PC. Snagget’s more powerful tool is a one-time fee of $62.99 but does come with a free trial. It provides a lot more editing features but both tools will get the job done.
Step 4: Add quotes and affirmations.
You can accomplish this step by adding text from directly inside whatever platform you decide to use, or you can copy and paste quotes from the web. If you’re using the text tool inside of the Canva app, you can change the font style, size and color to whatever you want. There’s also the option to find a font online that you love and upload the font to Canva. I have done this before, and the process is really easy.
- Select the text tool.
- Select the font feature.
- Scroll down to the bottom and choose “upload a font”.
- Add your font zip file.

And that’s it!! You’ll have access in Canva to the font of your choice.
Step 5: Let your creativity go crazy!
There’s really no right or wrong way to make your vision board online. Just arrange your images and text in a creative way that makes the most sense for you.
And don’t feel limited to your choices; as your mind changes and new inspirations come up, hop into your editor and make those updates. This is your vision to manage as you feel.
Step 6: Choose your display.
If you’re anything like me, you like physical products that you can touch and feel. However, in addition to printing your digital vision board to display in your home office, you can also set your computer or iPhone (hopefully not android, no shade) wallpaper as your vision board.
That’s exactly what I did; you may have to resize your vision board to whatever dimensions that each display requires.
Having a vision board is one of the best ways to visualize goals. There’s something about taking your dreams and vision from inside your head and putting them on something tangible. It makes it feel more attainable.
It also creates a new sense of accountability for yourself and gives people around you a chance to hold you accountable. And once you’ve reached your goals and realized your vision, it provides you with a great sense of accomplishment.
Each week, month, or year that you begin to set new goals, you’ll have the motivation, drive and confidence to create a new vision board and continue to watch your visions materialize.
